BASF Lutensol AO7 Functional Nonionic Surfactant – Synthetic Fiber Degreaser & T/C Fabric Cleaner
Product Name: Lutensol AO7
Other Names: Nonionic Surfactant
Product Overview
The Lutensol AO series, produced by BASF, is a specialized line of functional nonionic surfactants. These chemicals are synthesized from medium-chain C13–C15 alcohols and ethylene oxide. They deliver excellent degreasing, cleaning, and emulsifying properties.
This series offers a solution for applications requiring low COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) levels. All products in the range have a critical micelle concentration below 0.02 g/L, meaning only a small amount is needed to achieve effective emulsification and cleaning. Due to their outstanding performance and low dosage requirements, these surfactants significantly contribute to reducing COD values.
Lutensol AO7 is a hazy, colorless liquid at 23 °C. It may show a tendency to form precipitates but turns into a clear solution when heated to 50 °C.
Applications
Lutensol AO7 is used as a highly efficient synthetic fiber degreaser, commonly applied in polyester-spandex and nylon-spandex fabrics.
It can also be used alone, for example in the cleaning of T/C (polyester-cotton) fabrics.
