Sodium Gluconheptonate, with the English name "Sodium Gluconheptonate" and CAS number 16038-57-9, is a high-performance chelating agent launched by Nouryon under the product name Dissolvine CSA. In the field of food industry equipment cleaning, it is increasingly becoming an indispensable key component.

In food industry equipment cleaning, traditional chelating agents present several issues. While EDTA has strong chelating ability, it is difficult to degrade and can accumulate in the environment, failing to meet today’s stringent environmental standards. NTA offers better biodegradability, but its chelating capacity is relatively weak, making it difficult to meet cleaning demands under complex water quality conditions. Dissolvine CSA, however, effectively addresses these challenges. Derived from natural sugars, it is readily biodegradable and does not impose long-term environmental burdens, complying with standards such as EU REACH and OECD 301B. This provides strong support for the green and sustainable development of the food industry.

Additionally, it demonstrates high safety, posing no harm to food equipment or operators, thereby ensuring hygiene and safety in food production processes.

Dissolvine CSA features a unique molecular structure containing multiple coordinating atoms, such as oxygen (O). During the cleaning process, these atoms rapidly form stable cyclic structures with metal ions in water, such as calcium ions (Ca²⁺) and iron ions (Fe³⁺), effectively "locking" the metal ions. This chelation prevents the metal ions from participating in chemical reactions, thereby inhibiting the formation of scale, deposits, and other substances. Unlike conventional chelating agents, which typically bind one metal ion per molecule, Dissolvine CSA can chelate multiple metal ions under suitable conditions, demonstrating enhanced chelating capability. This makes it particularly suitable for high-iron water conditions or complex industrial cleaning scenarios.

In food industry equipment cleaning, Dissolvine CSA serves as a core additive, playing a crucial role. It chelates metal ions such as calcium and iron in water, preventing soil redeposition on equipment surfaces and maintaining cleanliness. When combined with natural surfactant Alkyl Polyglucoside (APG) and auxiliary chelating agent Sodium Citrate, it forms an efficient, eco-friendly, multi-functional cleaning agent. APG provides cleaning power, Sodium Citrate enhances the stability of alkaline systems, while Dissolvine CSA ensures strong adaptability of the cleaning system to hard water. This combination effectively removes various types of soil from food equipment, including grease and protein residues, while avoiding the ecological concerns associated with traditional chelating agents. As a result, it offers a safe, environmentally friendly, and efficient solution for cleaning food industry equipment.
